As an Animal Behaviourist I have performed Dog Behaviour consultations in Veterinary Clinics for over a decade. I have performed Dog Behaviour consultations in owners’ homes for well over a decade. Again, I found that your dog’s behaviour always changes when a complete stranger walks into your home. Excitable dogs get very excited and worked up, and anxious dogs get very nervous and scared. This all affects the true analysis of your innate dog’s personality and their true behaviour traits when they are relaxed, happy and comfortable. What I need to see is your dog’s true innate behaviour when they are relaxed at home, so that I can see their normal personality and they can tell me an awful lot about how they feel when I see them acting normally. It is really essential for me to enable to gauge what base level of anxiety your dog is dealing with on the day to day, even when they are in their most comfortable environment with you. This cannot be done nowhere near as effectively in the Veterinary Clinic or at a Home Visit Consultation. You can easily describe to me the dog behaviour problems that you are experiencing with your dog and need help with. This is the part that you know very well!
