WHAT IS ZYLKENE?

  • Zylkene (made by Vetoquinol) is a natural way to help pets cope with stressful situations.

  • Zylkene is a calming supplement.

  • It contains a natural ingredient derived from a protein in milk called casein that has been clinically proven to help relax cats and dogs.

  • It is a peptide (protein) molecule, well known to promote the relaxation of newborns after breastfeeding by delivering ‘calming messages’ to the brain via the body’s natural ‘messenger’ system (scientifically known as Neurotransmitters).

Zylkene has become a valuable support for veterinary surgeons, behaviourists, nurses and pet owners for use in helping pets cope when facing unusual and unpredictable situations, or before changes occur in their normal environment.

  • The powder inside a Zylkene capsule is tasteless. It can be given in multiple ways; mixed in with food or dissolved with water – great for fussy eaters.

  • Zylkene comes in capsules or chews.

SHORT TERM USE OF ZYLKENE:

  • For short term use of Zylkene, begin administration one or two days before the predicted stressful event or change in the environment occurs.

  • The short-term use of Zylkene may help pets cope with the following stressful situations: fireworks and loud noises, being left at home alone, travelling and holidays, new people, new animals, visits to the vet, unusual events, and parties.

LONG TERM USE OF ZYLKENE:

  • For long-term use give Zylkene to the dog or cat for one month then reassess their behaviour, and continue if needed.

  • The long-term use of Zylkene may help pets cope with the following stressful situations: pet boarding, moving house, a new pet, or person, in the household, or if your pet has anxiety.

HOW TO GIVE ZYLKENE TO YOUR PET:

Zylkene can be given in three different ways:

1. Sprinkle on food (capsules only);

2. Direct in the mouth (capsules or chews);

3. Dissolve in liquid (capsules only).

FIXING YOUR PET'S UNDERLYING ISSUES COMES FIRST:

  • Thinking of using Zylkene to assist you with your cat's problem behaviour?

  • Firstly, book a Behaviour Consultation for your pet with our Animal Behaviourist to TREAT THE CAUSE NOT JUST THE SYMPTOMS of your pet's behavioural problems.

  • An Animal Behaviourist formulates a targeted treatment plan for your cat that shows you how to address the underlying motivations and drivers of your cat's unwanted behaviour(s).

  • How and when to use Zylkene will be fully explained and may form part of your treatment plan for your cat.

  • Getting a Behaviour Consultation is less costly than you might expect.

HOW CAN WE HELP YOU?

At Animal Behaviour Australia we are committed to rectifying the cause of your pet’s behaviour problem, giving you a problem-free pet. Simply treating symptoms won't fix the root cause or address the motivating factors causing your pet's unwanted behaviours. To address BOTH the cause and symptoms, we recommend booking a Behaviour Consultation for your cat with our Animal Behaviourist, to develop a targeted treatment plan tailored to your unique pet and your particular circumstances. Each plan is unique, just like each pet and you. A Behaviour Consultation is less costly than you might expect. Don't wait, seek help for your pet. BOOK NOW!!
